I am interested in hearing from you on this--under what circumstances have you had the best potential for enlightenment--in your public/private schooling? at the university? among your family while growing up? Kant opens his article with the argument that enlightenment begins when stops being dependent on another in developing a personal point of view. I agree with this completely. We all become an enlightened person when we start thinking about any situation ourselves and form our own opinion without any influence from others. This helps us to take a mature decision when we think independent of any other person’s opinions. Since childhood our opinions have been formed by our parents, our teachers and our friends. We have a set opinion about the world and when we grow up we start questioning those opinions.
